Announcements and SWAG for week of 4/2-4/5

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a wonderful spring break.  This week is a bit of an island of a week since it follows spring break, but marks the last week of the trimester.  That said there is still a bunch going on!

1.  No school Friday (grade day)
2.  The OAKS/SBAC state testing for sixth grade will be starting this upcoming week.  Our class is scheduled to begin testing next Wednesday, from 1:40-2:40.  This year, testing will be an hour each day.  We are scheduled to test part of next week, and all of the following week.  Please ensure that your student gets plenty of sleep the next couple of weeks so they can perform their very best.
3.  This week there is no school on Friday.  Because it is the first week of the month, we have a spirit day.  The theme is mix 'n match.  We will also be having an assembly at the end of the day that day.  As such, there will be no band Thursday, so there will be no need to have your students bring their instruments!
4. This week is a make-up week.  I gave students a progress report of all of the assignments they were missing and a snap-shot of where they are sitting with their grades.  Students will have 45 minutes or so each day this week to work on this missing work.  I am letting students bring and listen to music during these study times.
5.  All SWAG this week will be worked on as a class and completed as a class.  If your student is at school and they are participating, they shouldn't have to worry about any homework this week!
