SWAG and Announcements week of 5/21-5/25

YEAR BOOK NOTE:  Students received an envelope Wednesday morning to order a yearbook.  This envelop must be turned into the front office no later than Tuesday, May 29th!

Announcements:
1.  This week is the last week for students who have yet to finish their state testing.
2.  Students can no longer check out books from the library.  During this time students will be working on a couple of health assignments.  The lesson assignments for this chapter will all be due at the end of the week NEXT WEEK.
3.  This week we will finally be finishing up our end of the year progress monitoring for Reading and Reading Comprehension
4.  SWAG and Assessments Due Friday.
5.  This is our last week of Science for the year.  All science related projects or assignments are due Friday.
6.  The class is starting a persuasive essay.  This essay will be done in full, during class.  This is the follow up of a pre-assessment for persuasive writing which was given to the students in the fall.

Spelling:  Complete pages 329-330 in the Reader's Notebook

Word Work:  All 10 Words -- intention, hoarding, retorted, gnarled, motioned, destination, inexplicable, inconsolable, legitimate, guttural

SWAG and Announcements for week of 5/14-5/18

2.  This week we finished our SBAC State Tests
3.  After having taken a break the last few weeks from Math during State Testing, Students have resumed their math classes.  Be on the lookout for Math Homework.
4.  Students will begin a social studies unit on ancient civilizations.
5.  SWAG will be due Friday.
6.  Assessments will be given Thursday

Announcements + SWAG for Week of 5/7-5/11

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.  Students will be writing a second classification essay on a topic of their choice as provided in the post from Monday.  The due date for this assignment is unusual in that it is not due this Friday, but rather, next Monday.
2.  Students will be responsible for all SWAG items posted below.  All SWAG is due Friday.  There is spelling this week.
3.  Family Math Night will be held at OPE this year from 6:00-7:30.  Details about this night and the bake sale happening that night were on a flyer sent home last week, as well as in last weeks blog post.
4.  Students will begin Math State testing this week.  Please make sure your student is well rested.
5.  The 6th grade field trip to Providence Park will be next Friday the 18th.  Expect bus slips and permission slips to come home this week.  These will need to be signed and returned asap.
